| The Eidolon Foundation has been Dissolved |
|

After much deliberation and consideration, the Board of Directors of
the Eidolon Foundation has elected for the termination and dissolution
of the Eidolon Foundation.
The Eidolon Foundation, which was incorporated as a non-profit
organization in late 2006 and shortly thereafter received 501(c)(3)
tax-exempt status, has worked for the past 2 years to promote greater
awareness of alternative spiritual traditions and minority religions
in the Charlotte area, with long term goals of creating a community
center and a non-denominational private school. Unfortunately, the
currently economic climate has demonstrated to us that these goals
simply cannot be reached within any reasonable time line. We have
furthermore determined that we are no longer able to afford our other
projects, such as the publication of our quarterly "Eidolon's Edge"
newsletter or our prison outreach program.
Given these reasons, as well as other considerations, the Board of
Directors has voted unanimously to dissolve the Eidolon Foundation,
effective upon our official filing with North Carolina Secretary of
State. Rest assured that all monetary assets and property belonging to
the Eidolon Foundation will be properly distributed to other
organizations according to non-profit regulation and IRS law.
If you would like to have additional information, or have questions
about the Foundation's dissolution or the distribution of assets,
please contact info[at]eidolonfoundation.org (subtitute @ for [at]).

It is with great regret that we must announce the cancellation of this year's fundraiser Yule Ball. Due, perhaps, to the current economic crisis, we have not seen the ticket sales we required to cover the overhead cost of the Ball, let alone for raising additional funds to sponsor the Eidolon Foundation's on-going activities.
As a result, the 2008 Yule Ball has been canceled

The dinner will then be followed by our Yule Ball with fun and entertainment for everyone: singers, dancers, tarot readers and divination, and a whole lot more.
This year's charity for the Silent Auction and Raffle is for the
Center for Positive Living.

| ''Excavating Egypt'' Field Trip To Columbia, March 8th |
|
The Columbia Museum of Art as an "Excavating Egypt" exhibit, apparently on loan from the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archeology. They advertise that the exhibit "features more than 200 of Petrie’s most significant finds – many never before seen by the public" and that "the exhibition also includes funerary objects: canopic jars, a gold mummy mask, papyrus texts from the Book of the Dead, and one of the world-famous panel portraits from the Roman period".
The Eidolon Foundation would like to get a group of people together here in Charlotte to head down, either on Saturday March 8th As we understand it, the museum is *free* on Saturday.
Please email Mobius@EidolonFoundation.org if you are interesting in joining us. We will be coordinating car pooling. There is a possibility of rendezvousing with a few Columbia folks, if it timing works out.
More info on the exhibit is here:

The Eidolon Foundation will be hosting its annual Yule Ball on Friday, December 14, 2007. Come out for a night of music, magic, laughter, and dancing.
What time? 8 pm to Midnight, December 14th, 2007
Where? Looks like we're going to have a fantastic location this year! Address and directions will be provided to all attendees.
What’s going on? (1)The musical stylings of Chris Givens and Discordia, (2)dancing and merriment, (3)a silent auction to benefit the Foundation and the Charlotte Metro PPD ’08, and (4)a slough of other goodies! You’ll have to come out to see all the good stuff we’ve got going on this year!!
Will there be food? Yep, probably! Still working on that angle completely, but it looks like you’ll be able to come out and enjoy some free food!
But what will I wear? This year we’re themed!! We’ve got a theme of “Fire and Ice” going on, since it is Yule we’re celebrating. You can come in a suitably themed costume if you’d like, or you can come in your semi-formal best.
Do I need money for this? Tickets are $15/person, or $25/couple if purchased in advance. Other than that, there will be a silent auction and a charity raffle, as well as some optional divinatory services rendered going on, so it might behoove you to bring some cash with you if you’d like to bid!
